High precision beta-multiplier-based constant-Gm current reference design
Author(s): Anima Sahu and Manoj Kumar Paramasivam
Abstract: Current reference circuits are used in integrated chips to achieve constant current irrespective of the driving load characteristics. In this paper, we design three beta-multiplier based current reference circuits, using only CMOS transistors. The intent of using only CMOS transistors is the ease of use in IC design and manufacturing. The design methodology employed in this paper uses a beta-multiplier based design to provide a constant transconductance current reference output using current mirrors. The design considerations, simulation results, and result analysis are discussed in detail.
