Abstract: The integration of remote sensing technologies with precision agriculture presents a transformative opportunity for enhancing crop management and productivity in papaya farming. In the Niayes region of Senegal, papaya production is facing numerous challenges, including unpredictable weather patterns, soil variability, and pest outbreaks. Advanced electronic systems, such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), satellite imaging, and ground sensors, have the potential to address these challenges by providing real-time data on crop health, soil conditions, and environmental factors. This paper explores the application of these technologies in papaya farming, specifically focusing on their role in improving irrigation efficiency, pest control, and yield prediction. Remote sensing offers a non-invasive, cost-effective approach to monitor large-scale farms and make data-driven decisions that optimize resource use. Precision agriculture, when combined with these technologies, allows for the precise application of water, fertilizers, and pesticides, reducing waste and environmental impact. Through a review of current practices and case studies from the Niayes area, this research aims to demonstrate the tangible benefits of integrating advanced electronics in the cultivation of papayas. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, farmers can increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve sustainability. The findings indicate that precision agriculture, supported by remote sensing, offers a promising pathway to boost papaya farming in the Niayes region and beyond.
