Enhanced low voltage ride through (LVRT) performance in single-stage, three-phase, grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems
Author(s): TA Hoang and VTM Thuc
Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive study on enhancing Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) performance in single-stage, three-phase, grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems. With the increasing integration of renewable energy sources into the power grid, maintaining stability during voltage dips becomes critical. This study leverages MATLAB/Simulink for simulating various low-voltage scenarios to assess the effectiveness of advanced control strategies in improving LVRT capabilities. By comparing the system's performance against a baseline model without LVRT improvements, the research quantifies the enhancements in stability, recovery time, and power output. The findings offer significant insights into the development of more resilient PV systems, contributing to a more reliable and sustainable power grid.
